Dos and Don'ts: Job Interviews

We here at Pitt Tonight know that many students are taking the next step into the real world and are interviewing for internships, co-ops, and adult jobs. In Episode 3, we gave you a few helpful tips for tackling those interviews, but, face it, you could use all the help you can get. Here are a few more Interview Dos and Dont’s:

Do: Ask yourself interview questions ahead of time.

Don't: Ask yourself questions during the interview.

Do: Arrive a little early.

Don’t: Come too early.

Do: Make eye contact.

Don't: Make mouth contact.

Do: Be honest.

Don’t: Tell them you know it’s a toupee.

Do: Prove you’re a people person.

Don’t: Show them your skin suit.

Do: Ask questions about the position.

Don’t: Ask the interviewer their favorite position.

Do: Use buzzwords.

Don’t: Reference the Buzzfeed.

Do: Emphasize your expertise with digital content creation.

Don’t: Show them all the dank memes you’ve made.

Do: Tell them you have effective communication skills.

Don’t: Tell them you’re effective at communicating to teenagers on RuneScape that you banged their mom.

Do: Blow them away.

Don’t: Blow them any other way.
