Behind the Scenes: Rejected Games

Here at the Pitt Tonight, our writers are working tirelessly to put together many different aspects of the show. From desk pieces to sketches and even games, the writers push their creativity to the max to come up with ideas. Unfortunately, not all ideas are good ideas. Here are some potential games that didn’t quite make the cut.

  • Hungry Hungry Hippocampus: A game that tests who can memorize the most South Oakland party addresses in 15 seconds, since, of course, the hippocampus works with memory.

  • Connect Foreplay: Our minds are always in the gutter, but this is a wholesome family show. In this game we see who can find the most creative way to incorporate Connect Four into dirty talk.

  • Stick It In There: We don’t need to go into detail on this one.

  • Monopoly: We’ve always wanted to be a rich mogul like Mr. Monopoly. This version of Monopoly is much more realistic. Contestants compete as small time dealers to see who can corner the South Oakland drug market.

  • 52 Bottle Pick Up: Just as fun as cleaning up after the party your roommates threw last night, but this time it’s on our show!

  • Roc vs. Live Panther: In a battle of claws, Roc must prove his alpha male status against a real live panther.

  • South Oakland Operation: Instead of removing funny bones, remove broken glass bottles and cirrhotic liver from our passed out friend Big Joey

  • BattleCrip: Pitt Tonight pays homage to the famous Los Angeles gang, the Crips, in this Battleship remake. In this game, Crips and Bloods battle over ownership of the streets of Pittsburgh.

  • Rock, Paper, Scissor, Shoot: - Bringing to life the classic child’s decision making game, “Rock, Paper, Scissor, Shoot” was filmed before a live audience. Regrettably, the game was left on the cutting room floor after host, Jesse Irwin, suffered a severe injury to his jugular vein. This injury was sustained after Irwin elected for “Paper” each round. According to his personal experience, “No one expects paper every time."

While you may not see these games on the show anytime soon, there is still plenty of fun planned. Be sure to reserve your tickets for Episode IV–which films this Sunday–at noon today on the ticketing page of our website.
