Member Spotlight – Megan Klein

Name: Megan Klein

Year/Major: Senior/Marketing Major, Creative Writing Minor

Where are you from?: From a small Northeastern PA town near Scranton (you know, like the Office). It’s called Hazleton, and will always make you rethink the way you spell the word “Hazel” (you know, the correct way).

What do you do for Pitt Tonight?

I’m a writer! I let the words ooze from my keyboard into the infinity we call life, praying it makes a spirit laugh.

I occasionally act in sketches and work as a liaison between writing and production; I also started helping with the blog. (Check out the latest post, What to Do With Yourself This Summer in South O.)

Who is your favorite late night personality? Why?

John Oliver. I know he technically does not follow the late night format, but Last Week Tonight is an incredibly witty, insightful show. I think it does an excellent job at blending humor with relevant news and issues.

What is the funniest thing you have seen on Pitt's campus?

Pitt’s first ever stand-up club, The Comedy Club. They had two shows on-campus last semester, and wow, what an exciting, fun, wonderful time. Again, that is The Comedy Club. What a laugh factory!

What are your hopes for Pitt Tonight?

What a lofty question. Ah, to hope, to dream. I think I just want to see it continue to grow. Working on Pitt Tonight has honestly taught me so much in the past year, and I want to keep learning and keep growing with everyone else.

Market or Perch?

I want to answer this one in two ways:

In the first way, I want to mention I became a vegetarian two weeks after coming to college. I was on the meal plan for two years. I was a vegetarian for two years.

In the second way, I want to say, “I guess Market; it’s the bigger endless buffet of your health taking a turn for the worst.”

So yeah, I guess Market. They do have ice cream!

Antoon's or Sorrento's?

Pizza Romano (feat. garlic butter)

Welcome to the official Pitt Tonight blog. While your waiting for our next show, keep up with our staff members in their weekly highlights, and see life in South O through the eyes of Pitt Tonight.
